I have been meaning to post on my blog for a long time about restoring an antique Barograph. Finding the right one and buying it at a reasonable price was the first challenge; then I began a substantial clean-up and a few small repairs. Nothing dramatic, as the main component, the aneroid, was still perfectly functional. Since I have other ways to check the atmospheric pressure at home, calibration wasn’t difficult.
I love these machines that are “simple” in comparison to electronics but “complicated” in terms of precise engineering.
I am very happy to have this in my house now, even if after a few years I tend to forget to wind the clock weekly.
